We invite you to the public talk by curator George Scholhammer «Why Curate the World?», which will be held on February 7th in the framework of Set Art Laboratory at Ivan Honchar Museum (Lavrska Str., 19).

The project is supported by Kusum charity foundation. Why Curate the World? Curating more and more seems to follow either a logic of a pseudo-universalist globalism or a segregative regionalism, often legitimized by an anit-hegemonical logic. In his intervention Vienna based curator, editor and wiriter Georg Schöllhammer will argue for a a more conspirative and specific form of exhibition (and-exhibition-policy)-making that is replete with spirits and forms that transmogrify, transform, and often dissolve and serve to navigate a counter-public. This world of curating is full of eerie displacements, gestures of the uncanny, and the constellation of the real exists in it as a plethora of doubled forms.
