Ukrainian-Canadian artist
Taras was born in Chernivtsi, in 1966.
In 1989, he migrated from Ukraine to Canada.
In 2014, because of Revolution of Dignity he returned to Ukraine.
In Chernivtsi he started public activity and opened the Bunker Center for Contemporary Art.
Taras creates provocative performances, sculpture, objects, fine art, photography, media art. He is the initiator of numerous social projects and actions, works with local city space.
Within the framework of his own Austria-Greece project the artist collects kitch specimens of Chernivtsi architecture
In 2002, Taras Polataiko represented Ukraine at Biennale in São Paolo (Brazil).
Taras lives and works in Chernivtsi.
