Mamay Alyona

Alyona Mamay was born in 1995 in Kyiv.
From 2009 to 2013 studied at Shevchenko State Art School.
From 2012 to 2017 studied at National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAOMA). As the last year student took up performance and actionism which provoked long-lasting confrontation between the students of NAOMA and the Fine Arts department. As a result of this confrontation the STO artistic group (doesn’t exist now) was founded, belonged to this group.
Participated in the School of Political Performance educational course by Mariia Kulykovska and Lesia Kulchytska (2016), Academy.Foundations by Lada Nakonechna and Kateryna Badyanova (2017-2018), the Contemporary dance course by Mariia Martos.

Made a number of performances with feminist themes, in particular the theme of the precarious work – What’s to be done, What should I draw?, Prayer Service.
Curated the Educational Actions exhibition (2019) about different kinds of violence. The exhibition was violently closed down by National Pedagogical Dragomanov University.
Works with the theme of the precarious work, education; deals with gender problematic. Creates participative performances and actions.
Takes part in organization of group performance plays and art therapy courses for the people who suffered from psychological traumas.
Studies at the Performance and Choreography faculty at Justus Liebig University Giessen (Giessen, Germany).
