Basanets Valerii

Ukrainian artist, painter
Born in 1941. Valerii Basanets finished Grekov Odesa Art School in 1963. The teacher of professional training was Y. Zheltkov.
Valerii was one of the founders of non-conformism in Odesa.
As well, he was a participant of three exhibitions of Impresa Biennale, apartment exhibitions and the famous informal Contemporary Art from Ukraine exhibition (Munich — London — Paris — New York, 1979).
The artist was one of the founders of the «Choven» artistic group (1993) and the «Mamai» production group (1998).
His artistic method is based on creation of a form due to delicate tone highlighting of details in silhouette depiction and the idea of metaphysical definition of the images.
