Project description:

ART THERAPY OF ATO / OOS VETERANS AND FORMER PRISONERS «DPR / LPR»

«MITEC. REHABILITATION SPACE” is an innovative program of artistic and psychotherapeutic rehabilitation of ATO / OOS veterans and former DPR / LPR prisoners. Teams from two organizations, «Аrt Initiative of Temporary Unity of Values»(МІТЄЦ) and the Lviv Psychoanalytic Institute of Mental Health, are working to implement it.

For 9 months, participants take part in 8 workshops in various arts: graphics, painting, photography, ceramics, collage, land art, sound art and performance dance. Workshops are conducted by prominent Ukrainian artists: Oleksiy Apollonov, Olena Pryduvalova, Valery Miloserdov, Serhiy Yakunin, Oleksandr Mylovzorov, Kateryna Svirgunenko, Alyona Mamay, Bohdan Moroz and others. The final chord of the project will be the creation of an art book and further development of methods by psychotherapists.

Psychotherapists and psychoanalysts work with the participants during workshops to enhance  final result as well as professional artists — Sergei Zakharov (former prisoner of the «DPR») and Dmitry Kolomoytsev (ATO veteran). They keep art diaries and record the art-therapeutic process.

With the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
